Mystic, CT -- Light One Little Candle exhibits at the Connecticut Library Association Annual Conference at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa, Groton, CT

Light One Little Candle was invited to be among approximately 100 organizations and companies exhibiting at the CLA's 117th Annual Conference, Innovation, Transformation & Beyond, to be held April 28-30, 2008, at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton, CT. In addition to providing information on the Foundation, we will also be selling Breast Cancer Awareness Jewelry from which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Light One Little Candle.

About 1,000 librarians, trustees, and library friends attend the three day event. This year’s offerings include a wide variety of national speakers: OCLC CEO Jay Jordan; Pew Internet and American Life Project Director, Lee Rennie; SirsiDynix Vice President for Innovation, Stephen Abram; as well as best selling author Elizabeth Berg and Pulitzer Prize winning author, Debby Applegate.

At the 2006 Conference, our Board member and West Hartford Children’s librarian Jane Breen was awarded the prestigious Faith Hektoen Award recognizing her work with Light One Little Candle as "an outstanding program or project that has made a significant impact on library service for children in Connecticut."
